I LOVE…NYFW Nails

Twice a year, editors, buyers, celebs, and fashion bloggers head over to NYC’s Lincoln Center to check out the hottest new fashion for the coming season. But this years NYFW showcased more than the newest trends in clothes, it showed off some of the hottest, craziest, and wildest nails. This year is all about your nails making a statement! And some of our favorites from right off the runway.

I LOVE…The Red Carpet’s Hottest Color

Awards season kicked off last night with an amazing Golden Globes red carpet. My personal favorite was Kate Hudson in that AMAZING Alexander McQueen gown, even though she shied away from the hottest color of the red carpet…RED! But these lovely ladies definitely were not shy about color.  Zooey Deschanel wowed in a gorgeous poppy red Oscar De La Renta, while Clare Danes looked stunning in a plunging Versace number. Not bad for someone who had a baby just months ago. I can’t wait to see what the biggest trend will be at the Oscars!

I LOVE…Original Moxie! (Part 2 & A Giveaway!)

Check out Part 1 here.
Last week I introduced you to my new love, Original Moxie. I have been testing out several products from the natural ingredient-filled hair care line for a couple of weeks now. Read on below to see my final reviews. Pssst, there’s a giveaway below!

Get Fresh! Shampoo
Geared towards normal to oily hair types, Get Fresh is meant to thoroughly clean the hair while adding strength and texture. I can say that this is truly the case. I LOVE this shampoo! It really cleans my hair without stripping, and I’ve noticed my scalp has been less itchy that usual. I can’t say my hair is “stronger”, but I definitely find my waves are more defined when I use this shampoo. Excellent!

Featherweight Conditioner
Another self-explanatory name, this conditioner is light in nature, focusing on shine and detangling. If I’m being honest, I’m kind of indifferent about this product. It’s not great but it’s not bad either. I was disappointed in the scent since I usually love anything vanilla and orange, but I will say this conditioner rinses out very well. Bottom line: take it or leave it.

Piece-nik Matte Styling Paste
Also somewhat self-explanatory, this paste is meant for giving textured-styles flexible hold and volume. So far I’ve only really used this as a root booster, and for that, I highly recommend this product. By working a teeny bit, “against the grain” as the website suggests, I notice a significant increase of volume at the root. My hair gets weighed down extremely easily with products, but to my surprise, I have not had this problem!

Straight Up Sleek Control
This light pomade is intended for all hair types and styles. I have yet to truly test drive this product, but it is AWESOME following a blow out. I rubbed a teeny, tiny bit between my hands and smoothed on the the lower half of my hair after blow drying. This gave my hair a nice sheen and calmed down any little fly aways and frizz.

Well that’s a wrap! As a whole, I am very happy with Original Moxie. With great ingredients and customer service, they have some truly great products. In honor of this post, Original Moxie was generous enough to do a giveaway with us! You can win 3 of my favorite Original Moxie products: Mane Tame, Oasis Moisture Gel, and Sweet Poof! Here are the rules (you must do all 3 to be eligible):
1) Like ilovewantneed on Facebook.
2) Like Original Moxie on Facebook.

I NEED…A Personalized Gift

Well for those of you who procrastinate like me and are still looking for a holiday gift even though Chanukah has already started and Christmas is in three weeks, look no further. I have the best personalized gifts for you to get your mom, sister, best friend, or any one you may be buying a gift for.

1. A monogrammed necklace – Max & Chloe; $80
Max & Chloe has almost every jewelry designer you can possibly imagine as well as their own in house line (that’s crazy inexpensive). So no matter your price range, you can definitely find a gorgeous monogrammed piece for anyone you love.

2. A monogrammed cashmere throw – Williams Sonoma; $199
My favorite part of winter is grabbing a cup of hot chocolate and snuggling on the couch under a cozy blanket, so it’s no surprise that I love the idea of a soft cashmere blanket. And I love that you can make such a classic gift so much more personal by adding a monogram.

3. A Personalized Stocking – West Elm; $24
Christmas decorations can be so beautiful and I personally love the idea of a white Christmas…and have always wanted a stocking (since I don’t celebrate christmas). So, I am obsessed with these white felt snowflake stockings from West Elm that you can have embroidered with the names of all of your family members.

4. Personalized Necklace – Poor Cat Designs
I was recently introduced to this awesome new jewelry brand and fell in love with their inscribed pieces. They have the biggest variety of sterling silver, 18K Gold and 18K Rose Gold charms I have ever seen and since they personalize everything by hand, you can literally personalize anything. I just love all of the new and creative ways they do personalized jewels and of course, you can add diamonds… hint hint boys.

5. Monogrammed Cell Phone Case – The Preppy Techie; $56
Since we all carry our cell phones basically 24 hours a day now, why not make it into a bright accessory. The Preppy Techie has hundreds of patterns, colors and text options to create any case you can imagine.

6. Monogrammed Tote – Gigi NY; $285
Gigi NY is another amazing designer I recently stumbled upon with gorgeous embossed leather bags. Though this tote bag is my personal favorite they have a bunch of handbag styles and all can be monogrammed on the leather, OR if you prefer to, add a monogrammed handbag tag.
